Get Out in Nature: A Community Scavenger Hunt
的 Center for the Advancement in STEM Education (情况下) is hosting a FREE yearlong scavenger hunt for participants of all ages, to encourage the community to "Get Out in Nature." Teams of up to 8 members will explore selected trails, 公园, and nature reserves within Eastern Massachusetts, and earn points by completing new missions each month. A monthly prize will be awarded as well as 3 grand prizes at the end of the program. Play the game for 1, 2 or all 12 months!
O笔试之夜
的 Center for the Advancement of STEM Education (情况下) invites you to O笔试之夜 2023, an event for the entire community, especially K-12 students. O笔试之夜 features STEM activities and demonstrations. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required. All children must be accompanied by an adult. 停车 is available in the Bridgewater State University 停车 Garage.
Date: Wednesday, November 8, 2023 5:00 – 8:00 PM. 的 BSU天文台 may be open until 9:00 PM (weather permitting).

This day is an international celebration of Darwin’s theory of evolution as well as a day dedicated to science communication and outreach, celebrated on or near the birthday of Charles Darwin. For the 2024 celebration, Bridgewater State University will have a community lecture.
Keynote Speaker: Toni Lyn Morelli, PhD
研究生态学家U.S. 地质调查所
Dr. Morelli is a research ecologist at the Northeast Climate Adaptation Science Center. Her research expertise includes landscape and species conservation, 适应气候变化, 平移生态, and mammal vulnerability.

数学袋鼠 is a competition for students in grades 1 through 12. 的 atmosphere is fun and encouraging and all participants receive a T-shirt, 铅笔, 证书和玩具. 的 heart of the competition is the 75 minute multiple-choice test. 的re are 24 questions for students in grades 1 through 4, and 30 for grades 5 and up. 为女孩开绿灯 is an international organization dedicated to inspire girls of all ages and backgrounds to pursue STEM subjects — Science, 技术, Engineering and Mathematics — by introducing them to the world of science in fun and exciting ways. 的 Center for the Advancement of STEM Education and the College of Education at Bridgewater State University partner with 为女孩开绿灯 to offer a 为女孩开绿灯 STEM event, where we welcome 150 girls (aged 11-15) from local communities to join us for an exciting day filled with hands-on science & technology workshops guided by STEM role model professionals, BSU faculty and staff.

的 BSU天文台 offers public viewing nights during the Fall and Spring semesters. 的 Observatory staff will show you constellations, 行星, 星星, 星云, galaxies and star clusters, and will be happy to answer any questions you have about astronomy.
